William James3 Widney (Johnston2, Charles1, James), son of Johnston2 and Mary (Henderson) Widney, was born 14 Apr 1860, Doylesburg, PA, and died 22 Feb 1946, Smithfield, PA. He was buried in Doylesburg United Methodist Cemetery, Doylesburg, PA.[1]

He married, say 1878, Ida Arminta Clugston, daughter of Isaac and Agnes Grace (Hammond) Clugston. She was born 25 Mar 1860, Spring Run, PA, and died 26 Dec 1956, Smithfield, PA. She was buried in Doylesburg United Methodist Cemetery, Doylesburg, PA.[2]

Mrs. Ida Arminta Widney
Mrs. Ida Arminta Widney, 96, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Paul Gilliland of Smithfield, at 4 p.m. Wednesday, December 26, 1956.
Mrs. Wedney was born in Spring Run on March 25, 1860, a daughter of Isaac and Agnes (Hamman) Clugston. She was united in marriage to William James Wedney in 1878 and her husband preceded her in death on February 22, 1946.
She had farmed with her husband in Path Valley most of their married lives. They retired from farming in 1937 and moved to Mount Union.
Mrs. Wedney was a member of the Mount Union Presbyterian Church and of the Cloyd B. Ewing Sunday School class.
She is survived by six children, John A., North Braddock; Mrs. F. W. (Cora) Harris, Shipppensburg; Mrs. Olaf (Edith) Billberg, Wannaska, Minnesota; Mrs. Frances Pollack, Mount Union; Mrs. C. T. (Blanche) Gilbert, Mapleton; Mrs. Paul (Olive) Gilliland, Smithfield.
Also surviving are 44 grandchildren, 85 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, December 29, at the Clark funeral home, Mount Union. The Rev. S. J. Thackaberry and the Rev. Paul K. Schuler will officiate and interment will be at Doylesburg Cemetery. Friends are being received at the funeral home.
