Apr. 8, 1783, Warwick, Mass., m. -----, and d. 27 Sep 1831; res. Warwick, Mass. He is given three children, no names known, who d. Nov. 5, 1828, Aug. 13, 1831, and Aug. 19, 1831, presumably in Warwick. The death date is wrong. The location of his death was Warwick, MA. >> Bob Schadewald (my cousin and also member of WRG) has, the above noted, John Whitney Jr's bible where he recorded his ancestry back to John & Elinor Whitney. He also recorded the births, marriages and deaths of his wife and his children. It is noted that John Jr married Abigail Foster and SHE is the person who died on 27 Sept 1831, 3 weeks after giving birth to William who died the day he was born, 8 Sept 1831. Two children died in August of 1831 - Sarah on the 13th and Abraham on the 18th. Then the newborn and the mother followed with the month. Child James had died in 1828. Only 2 children survived to adulthood, Henry Payson Whitney and Joseph Mason Whitney. HP Whitney and Margaret Bohannon were my GGGGrandparents. Joseph Mason and his wife Julia Brockway apparently had no children, at least none recorded in the bible of Joseph where he recorded their marriage and Julia's death, this bible being in the possession of my mother. Does anyone have any information to the contrary? It should be also be noted that the last entry in John Whitney's bible is recorded by someone other than John Whitney Jr, as it records his death on July 3, 1839. I realize that family records such as these bibles may not be considered 100% accurate, but they certainly are helpful. Jo Hogle (who will be glad when the Pierce transcription is done - still working on my assigned pages)
