WHITNEY b. Ohio or NY 1822: d. Iowa 1912 married Josepheny(Isaphena-several spellings) DOW 1847 in Rives, Jackson, Michigan Unknown WHITNEY (Daniel's father) was a "professor" who went to Michigan to establish schools in Sandusky and Battle Creek Michigan. On 1840 census in Rives, Jackson, Michigan A Benjamin and Daniel were listed together. We thought perhaps Benjamin was the father-However he is more of the same age as A brother. Israel Whitney was the witness of Daniel and Isapheny's marriagb Israel was listed as a neighbor of Daniel in the 1850 census of Tompkins, Jackson, Mi. -Also making him near the age of a brother. This is more of what I know from family and research. Birth: family said New York: according to 1900 census-Ohio His parents were from New York His mother was a Bennet : His Father was a school professor organizing Schools in Battle Creek Michigan and Sandusky, Mich. He retired on a farm at Jackson Michigan Census 1900 Harlan Shelby co. Iowa-Daniel b. 1823 age 76 m. 54 years. 10 children 8 living, b. in Ohio. father b. in New york. mother b. NY. Owns his home free of Mortgage d.1912 Clarenda State Hospital of a stroke An article in Progressive Men of Iowa -¬©abt 1895 About CASSIUS WHITNEY-son of Daniel R. WHITNEY: Farmer b.
