White, Genealogical Abstracts of Revolutionary War Pension Files, Volume III: N-Z (Waynesboro, Tennessee: The National Historical Publishing Company, 1992), p. 3816. Salmon, MA Line, Hepzibah, W26619, sol was b 16 Feb 1760 at Harvard in Worcester Co MA & he always lived on the same farm & he appl. at said Harvard MA on 14 Aug 1832, sol d 11 Aug 1844 & his wid appl 20 May 1845 at Harvard MA aged 83, sol had m Hapzibah Raymond 22 Apr 1784 both were of Templeton MA He was Salmon-6 Whitney (Jonas-5, Jonas-4, Moses-3, Richard-2, John-1) son of Jonas and Zebudah (DAVIS) Whitney, b. 16 Feb 1760 Harvard, Worcester County, Mass; d. 11 Aug 1844 Harvard; m. in Templeton, Mass. 22 Apr 1784 Hephsabeth (Hepzibah) RAYMOND (1761-1850). They had 6 children. Per our D.A.R. extracts (Vol 33 p174): Lt. Salmon Whitney 'enlisted in the first call for troops and, 1780, was lieutenant under Capt. William Scott. He was born in Harvard, Mass., where he died, and in the cemetery is an interesting memorial tablet.' My records had an approximate marriage date until now. The above pension record tells us where to look for their marriage -- which is confirmed in Templeton, Mass. vital records as 22 Apr 1784.
