From: "Jeanne Muse" <jwmuse -at- compuserve.com> Subject: [WHITNEY-L] Lydia Whitney / James Locke Date: Tue, 23 Nov 1999 19:46:56 -0500 Dear Jerry and WRG: The notes in my Misc. Whitney gedcom say this about Lydia WHITNEY and James LOCKE: Being researched by Jerry Harrison <jroots -at- aol.com> 'Lydia and James moved to Wellsboro, Tioga, PA. James had been a silversmith in VT and became a gunsmith in Wellsboro.' I do not know if Jerry is still a member of our group, or if his e-mail address is correct. This Lydia, too, is a descendant of John and Elinor of Watertown. She was Lydia-7 Whitney (Samuel-6, Joseph-5, Timothy-4, John-3, John-2, John-1). Lydia was the dau. of Prv. Samuel and Mary (WHITNEY) Whitney, born 6 Sep 1793 in Gilsum, Cheshire County, New Hampshire and died in Wellsboro, Tioga County, Pennsylvania on 27 Jan 1887. She married in about 1815 James LOCKE, born 18 May 1790 Thetford, Orange County, Vermont. I have removed them from our Misc. Whitney gedcom, since they connect to an immigrant ancestor.

-) Jeanne
