If I understand the miscwhit.ged file correctly, it is for all Whitney families not connected to John, Henry, or Samuel. This can include orphaned lines which may someday hook into one of the 'big three', but it can also include smaller families descended from an identified immigrant, such as yours. I think Jeanne was indicating that it had been hooked into one of these other three databases, and had therefore been removed from miscwhit. If I am incorrect in this understanding, someone please tell me! Perhaps as we identify more of these 'other' immigrant families we can move them to their own database, but for now I think they're fine in miscwhit. > I applaud the way the group is helping so many find their connection to > John or Henry, but I am far more impressed with the way most of the > original group have continued to embrace the search for other Whitney's > even when it won't benefit their own research. I think that this really is the key to what makes our group so special. People are constantly submitting Whitney data that is not in their line in hopes that it will benefit someone else. This group connected my orphaned Ezra Whitney Sr. and I myself try my best to help others enjoy the same success. Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Tim Doyle
