He was, indeed, related to the inventor Eli-7 WHITNEY [Eli-6, Nathaniel-5, Nathaniel-4, Nathaniel-3, John-2, John-1]. They were fourth cousins. I do not have any further information about him, his wife, or his children, and would be interested in whatever you can supply about him and his descendants who bore the name WHITNEY. There was an Elisha WHITNEY living in Walden, Caledonia Co., VT, in 1830 and 1840, according to the indexes to those censuses, which may or may not apply to the above person.
