From: "Lorraine Ferguson-Goss" <fergoss -at- together.net> Subject: [WHITNEY-L] Hiram Whitney Date: Fri, 11 Aug 2000 07:57:31 -0400 Hi Mary, It is my firm belief that the Hiram Whitney you seek can be found in Pierce as person #3046, as one of the children of Daniel and Content Stiles Whitney. "Early Families of Plymouth" by Bryant lists 10 children, and Vermont Vital Records lists another marriage for him: Marriage/Groom: Hiram Whitney; Bride: Harriet P. Ellis, April 1, 1849, Thomas Baldwin, Minister; Plymouth, VT. Since Julia's birth is February 24, 1853, Harriet might be her mother. I also see that in Jeanne Muse's transcriptions of the first reel of microfilm has an entry that "Arvilla Whitney" died in 1846, and that the information is from a Baptist Church record. Following Hiram's second marriage to Harriet Ellis, EFOP lists the birth of Harriet M. Whitney, August 21, 1850. I have been busy transcribing all the Vt. Vital Records for our Whitney site, so haven't spent much time on my personal genealogy, but this is part of my line... I hope this helps! Lorraine Ferguson-Goss
