From: Chris Branagan <slainte -at- together.net> Subject: [WHITNEY-L] the Whitney Boys Date: Wed, 03 Jan 2001 15:03:46 -0500 Hi Ken, You and I corresponded a few months ago, and I sent you some information on the families of John and Almira (Turner) Whitney, along with the work I had done on their ancestors in Maine. I recall you said you were going to try to get to Washington DC over the holidays to see if you could uncover Whitney Civil War records. I was wondering if you indeed had found time to do that, and if by chance you uncovered any of my people. The eligible Whitney brothers would be: John Carlton Whitney b. March 16, 1845 d. Oct 17, 1917; Charles Loring Whitney b.Sept. 15 1851 d.March 31, 1882; and Willard Roscoe Whitney b. July 12, 1855 d. Dec. 28 1925. Willard may have been a bit young. Their father was John Whitney b.June 1 1808 d. Oct. 2 1887, but he may have been a bit old for service in the Civil War. I would appreciate any information you come across. By the way what do you think of a Whitney Reunion in or near Watertown in summer 2002? Jeanne and I will be discussing the "ifs" and "whens" soon. Happy New Year! from, Carolyn Whitney Branagan
