This is documented in the Historian's office of Saratoga Co.-New York(phone # 518-884-4749) in their computerized cross reference file. Mr. Lynn Calvin was kind enough to provide this reference. I obtained the enclosed census record from the microfilm files of the LDS Family History Center in Salt Lake City on March 17, 2001. I would like to recommend this Center for their vast knowledge and commitment to genealogy. James E. Whitney, II Atlanta, Ga. ************************************************************************* ************ I have a strong suspicion that Solomon belongs with my Whitney families of Delaware County, New York . It appears that there were ties to the Gavett family of Delaware County, N.Y. , also. Family members and I have been searching for the parents of Jacob Whitney (our g.g. grandfather )for several years with no clues except for family hearsay and a few records. My g. grandmother was Delilah Jane Gavett. She married George Sands Whitney, son of the above mentioned Jacob. (Noted the child ,Delia living with Issac & Mary Gavett) This all may lead to a confirmation my Gavett line ,as well (where I have a missing generation) Noticing that Solomon was born in Vt.--we may have been looking in the wrong places. Is there any information as to Solomon's parents and the line to which he belongs.??? He would have been of the same generation as our g.g. grandfather Jacob ---so possibly was his brother. Another interesting note is that the given name of Solomon is in the Gavett family. I do not have my records with me at this time. but will be returning to upstate N.Y. by May where I can supply more information. Helen Rogers --------------- helenrogers -at-
