From: ALLAGREEN -at- Subject: [WHITNEY-L] Identifying lines in Subjects Date: Sat, 4 May 2002 00:36:44 EDT Dear WRG: If one is posting found data like Vitals or Cemetery records, obituaries, etc., etc., it really is not possible to designate which line they apply to. The main thought is to add to the body of data in the hopes that it will ultimately become useful to someone down the line. This seemingly goes for queries about brick wall ancestors as well. On the other hand, if one as assisting another WRG member by sharing data about a lineage that one has and the other doesn't, if the immigrant ancestor is known, then it would be a simple courtesy to others on the list to identify the same. Our list has become almost famous for two ourstanding elements. One is the quality of the research work and documentation that is represented by much of our collected and collective work. The other is the courtesy, kindness and generosity of the members. Hardly a week goes by without a newcomer or visitor offering such a comment. I'm very proud of that, as I know all of the rest of you are. Happy Hunting to all. Allan E. Green
