From: David Scott Drane <davidscottdrane -at- yahoo.com> Subject: Canton, Maine, Whitneys Date: Mon, 20 Sep 2004 06:50:31 -0700 (PDT) I am seeking help from the list on tracking down two unnamed Whitney sisters enumerated in the 1830 and 1840 censuses in the household of Judith (nee Francis) Whitney in Canton, Maine. They were born sometime between 1820 and 1825, possibly in Lisbon, Maine. I can only imagine that they were married, and thus with different surnames, by the time of the 1850 census. Their mother is remarried to (and in the household of) a William Winslow of Canton by the 1850 census. Their Whitney father is still unconfirmed, and it is partly for this reason that I'm seeking information on the two. Their brother, John F. Whitney (b. 1821 Lisbon, ME, m'd. Martha Hacker in Brunswick, ME, and d. 1985 East Livermore, ME), is my ggggrandfather. Any information or leads on these two Whitney women would be appreciated. Thank you.
