The closest connection, I believe, is through Thomas and Welthian Richards, whose daughter Mary married a Hinckley, and connects them to the fellow who nearly put his distant cousin in office two terms ahead of schedule. I went spelunking in both men's Ahnentafels. The President descends from Henry Whitney, but Senator does not. Neither man descends (in any known line) from John and Elinor.
