From: "Carol Cook" <ccook919 -at- hotmail.com> Subject: RE: [WHITNEY-L] Joseph & Mary Whitney of Oneonta, NY Date: Tue, 21 Mar 2006 12:29:01 -0500 In-Reply-To: <000601c64c92$cfe67140$6d012c42@Whitneycomp> Ken - I am reading the 1812 extracts thoroughly...you may remember I'm looking for the illusive William Whitney, married to Sarah Polley with children Frederick E. born in 1856 in New York and Charles born in 1861 in Michigan. This particular extract has really caught my eye because the name "Eaton" was my father's middle name and reportedly a name passed on through the years. Is it a coincidence that Joseph served under Captain Eaton? Frederick's obituary states he was born in Oneida County, New York but I have recently found a reference to Ostego County. This seems like a good lead to me...I'll be heading to the library this week. Thank you for your good work and your willingness to share information.
