I have found her line of Whitneys. Kimberly has been told that she is a direct descendent of Josiah Bartlett, signer of the Declaration of Independence and it comes through the Bauer side of the family. I found a Bartlett line through the Whitneys, have searched and searched, but haven't found any connection to Josiah. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Kimberly is actually not interested in joining the DAR, but would like to know where the Whitneys connect to Josiah. I'm stuck at William M. Bartlett. Since members of the list are writing about being members of the DAR and SAR, I thought you might be able to lead me in the right direction. Here is her line of Whitney/Bartlett's . . . Samuel Whitney b. 1711 in MA m. Elizabeth Hastings Samuel Whitney b. 1739 in MA m. Phebe Harrington Son, Zenas Whitney b. 1779 In MA then settled in Saratoga Co., NY, m. Lydia Knight Son, Zenas Whitney Jr. b. 1815 in Saratoga Co, m. Dolly Jane Snow Willard Moore Whitney b. 1851 in Saratoga Co, m. Louisa M. Bartlett whose family was also from Saratoga Co. NY. Louisa's parents were William M. Bartlett b. 1818 and Laura Dansing. Son, Willard Moore Whitney Jr. b. 1882 m. Hester Lucretia Kress Daughter, Helen Kress Whitney b.1910 m. Charles Henry Bauer - and these are the grandparents of my daughter-in-law, Kimberly Bauer-Sharpley. I live in NM and when I go to visit my family in VA, I take an updated wall chart of the family tree for them to post on a wall in their rec room. They all enjoy looking at it. One of the fun things I have found in my genealogy search is that my son, Christopher and daughter-in-law, Kimberly, are 9th cousins once removed. They have the same ancestor back in the 1500's in England through my paternal side of the family. I will be visiting VA later this month and it would be great to take new information with me.
