I will be going to the cemetery to look for the stones some time this fall. Would you give me your GGGF Milton Whitney's line back, as I don't have anything on him, that late. The Samuel Carey name sounds like the Whitney's from Binghamton, New York. I'd better not guess, and let you fill me in. Hi Jonathan and Gerald - I have been following the discussions about Belleville, KS for the reason that I have a Whitney relative that lived and died there. She was the daughter of My G-G-GF Milton Whitney (1818-1892). He was of Licking and Morrow/Richland counties in Ohio. She was Mary Ann born 1852 Richland or Morrow Co., Ohio and married a Samuel Carey of the same area in 1869. They removed to Freedom Twp, Republic Co., KS in 1869 and she died in Belleville in 1935 and is buried in the Bellville Cemetery. Among other children born and raised there was their son, a Charles Milton Carey. He had 10 children one of which was Bessie who married a Glenn Tallent there. She provided the above information. I thought you might know of them. I too have had the DNA test (67 markers) done and really don't suspect that we are connected but I do think that Whitney Keen has received my numbers and a comparison to yours could be made. I suspect at the present time that my Milton's ancestors came from Wales and have been in contact with John Whitney of England who has provided me with some interesting information about the location of these suspected people. Just thought I would throw that into the thread about Belleville, KS.
