My records are missing this information. Your results show an exact match to the John Whitney signature to 25 markers. James Whitney's results show an exact match to 12 markers. It has been lost in my stack (on-line) I am so anxious to compare our DNA results since my belief is that we are from basically the same line. Mine is: Silas b.1762 Silas b. 1737, David, Benjamin, Thomas, Thomas, John. We have expanded our 37 marker test (which matches Tim Doyle's 37 markers) to 67. You state in your e-mail that you have DNA results to back up your line. How can I compare my families DNA result to yours, are they on line? I would be so grateful. Also another James Whitney is taking the 67 marker test. His line is also through Silas. My hope in participating in this study is that we could find our line definitively. Than you so much for any help you can give. However, I have DNA results to document my line. My family splits from yours at Silas Whitney. Your line is Bartholomew-Silas and mine is Benjamin-Silas. It would be very revealing to compare DNA to see if any mutations have occurred. Tim- I believe you have my DNA results. Feel free to openly discuss what you find. Also I would donate to the DNA study fund. Your cousin, James E. I think your Joel and Lucy were Joel-8 Whitney (Bartholomew-7, Silas-6, David-5, Benjamin-4, Thomas-3, Thomas-2, John-1) and Lucy Sheldon, who were married (said) 1812. Joel had been born 9 Sep 1791, Clarendon, VT, son of Bartholomew and Lois (-----), according to vital records. Their children were Elizabeth Martin, John, Clark, Hiram R., and Mary Tracy Whitney. They may have lived part of their life in Fairfield, VT. Lucy Sheldon is listed in some places as Lucy Willard Sheldon, daughter of George and Joanna (Smith) Sheldon, born 1793, Salisbury, CT, and died 1878.
