From: "Tim Doyle" <tim -at- greenscourt.com> Subject: [WHITNEY] Lucy (WHITNEY) Shattuck's daughter's photo found Date: Fri, 20 Oct 2006 09:01:24 -0500 The following message was posted to the Whitney Research Group website discussion forum. I am forwarding it on in hopes that a relative will see it here. Tim Mimifa <http://wiki.whitneygen.org/wrg/index.php/User:Mimifa> said: 18 October 2006 Please help me get these photos back to their families. I am not a relative, but I was moved by a cabinet photo of a 10-year-old girl that was for sale on eBay. I e-mailed someone who had the girl listed in his or her online family tree, but I got no reply. Perhaps, the e-mail address was no longer working. The auction was closing soon and I was worried that the photo might not be listed again, so I bought it. Now it is my mission to get this photo back into her family's possession. (Another, possibly unrelated, photo came with hers.) The photo has the following printed (not handwritten) at the bottom of the photo: "Lodena Shattuck: Age 10 years; Weight 148 3/4 pounds. 1881." From this Whitney site, I found out that she was born Oct. 19, 1870. Her lineage is as follows: Isaac Whitney m. Lydia Taylor and had Isaac Whitney, who m. Abigail Greeley. They had Lucy Whitney, who m. Edwin E. Shattuck, whose 7th child was Lodena Shattuck. Lodena m. John E. Smith, and they had Perley E. Smith. A photo that came along with Lodena's photo was of a man. The photo was taken in Lisbon, NH. On the back of the photo, a handwritten note appears to say the following: "Merrick Bowles Landaff NH." I bought the 2 photos for a total of $18.74. I will sell either or both for exactly what I paid: one photo for $9.37.
