I would like to take you up on your offer of information about the children. This is my problem: Posted on the WRG web page is my abstract of the Civil War pension file for Adrial L. Whitney, who moved from MA to ME in 1850. I recently found a cemetery record for one of Adrial's children, which sent me looking for Adrial's lineage once again. I like my soldiers connected. Anyway, from the pension file I know that Adrial was born in Medfield, MA ca 1825, the son of Leonard and Achsah Whitney. In the 1830 census, the only Leonard Whitney in MA resides in Sudbury. So, I am left in a quandry. It is possible that Adrial's father died before 1830, and is not in the census. Achsah doesn't appear as a head of household either. Or, are Achsah and Ruth of Sudbury the same person? Achsah appears to be an uncommon name, so is there a record somewhere of a Leonard marrying an Achsah? Is Achsah Ruth's middle name? Too many possibilities and no inspiration on my part. Maybe you MA researchers might have a little. Thanks again.
