My name is Esther Smith. I have been helping my parents and family with genealogy since I was about 5 years old (as much as a 5 yr. old can). I grew up in Alaska, my dad was a rural Magistrate in a tiny Native village of about less than 500 people. Being the Magistrate, he had access to and was the keeper over all of their vital records. So he would have me help him gently and carefully take these old brittle original Alaskan Native Documents and scan them into the computer one by one. For a while we were typing and deciphering handwriting which we got rather good at, but one day the big coorporate judicial authorities came in and said, we think these books are too old and nobody cares about this stuff now anyway, we only have to keep them for a certain number of years, and they took the records. I'm not sure whether they still have them or tossed them, but they were certainly not careful with them. However, for anyone searching for long lost relatives who moved up to Alaska, my dad would be the man to ask. He still has copies of most of those records and though he is currently not working on them, I know he would be happy to help someone in need of his help with them.
Back to me: I was home-schooled and when I graduated through a distance learning program that I helped my parents invent in Alaska (that helps fund Homeschoolers and allows them to graduate with a regular diploma)- then I went on to college at Brigham Young University-Hawaii.
I got more involved in genealogy while I was in college and took a university class on it and participated in some of the first trial studies of the LDS genealogy DNA project. I have traced my family history back fairly far on many sides, with quite a lot of help. I am related to many noble and prominant people of royalty or otherwise - which not to brag - but to say helps me greatly in my quest to find my heritage. They have done a lot of the work for me, and once I have tied into certain lines they go way way back, and I am thankful for that.
I am also thankful to all those here who have been a part in this project. It has helped me greatly in verifying some of my information and even getting new leads.
I would be happy to talk with anyone who would like leads on their family if they know they are related to some of the following people, because either I have a lot of information in these areas, or I need information in these areas.

Anyhow, if anyone has questions about these lines or information for me about these lines I would love to talk to you. I can be reached at [email protected] I also have a couple websites that you can learn more about me at, if you are interested. They have nothing to do with genealogy, just to inform you.
One of them is my work website where I am a Graphic designer (graduated from college with a BA in Graphic Design/Fine Arts). I also make websites and restore old photos. The other website is not quite finished yet, and is my most recent work, but I have just recently signed a 3 year book contract with a publishing company as an author. I currently am writing children's stories for children with Autism as I have three children of my own all on the Autism Spectrum. Feel free to comment to me on either.
