My name is Karen Whitney Peterson. My father, James DeAlton Whitney, and mother, Gertrude Fay Pierce Whitney, moved from Elk Mound, Wisconsin in 1951 to Montesano, Washington. My grandfather, Edwin James Whitney, was born near there at Springbrook Township. My great-grandfather, James Reed Whitney and family moved from New York to Wisconsin. Before New York, our family lived in Connecticut and before that, Massachussetts.

I believe I have the family line correct, but I still need to make sure that I have all of the correct dates.
