Conn.; m. Prof. William Dwight Whitney, Ph.D., LL.D.; since 1854, Professor of<br />
Sanscrit in Yale College; the well-known author of "Language and the Study of<br />
Language," "Oriental and Linguistic Studies," as well as other learned works. He<br />
was b. Feb. 29 1829; s. of Josiah D. and Sarah (Williston) Whitney. Graduated at<br />
Williams, 1845; m. Aug. 28, 1856.<br />
