:A Ltr. of Adm. was granted on 12 Dec 1732 to Hannah Fay of Westboro, widow of John Fay Jun. of Westboro, husbandman, deceased, (1:75-76), and a £2,000 bond was posted (216:285) by Hannah, John Fay, Gent. and James Fay, yeoman, all of Westborough. The Inventory, taken by Simon Tainter, Edward Baker and Percy Rice, is dtd 28 Jan 1732/3 and totals £972:12:0, including real estate of £790 (1:77). This is witnessed by Mary Pratt and James Fay. On 6 Feb 1733/4, Hannah Fay, relict and widow, filed and account (1:104). A Receipt dtd 25 Aug 1738 and signed by John Fay, guardian for all the children of John Fay Jun., deceased, acknowledges payments made by Samuel Lyscom of Southborough, husband of Hannah Lyscom who ws the widow of John Fay. The Partition and Assignment of Dower (2:499) is dated 21 Aug 1746. Timothy Brigham, Nathaniel Whitney, James Miller and James Bowman appraised the extensive real estate holdings, which were shown to them by Jonathan Fay, the eldest son, and by James Fay, brother of the deceased. The widow received substantial amounts as her thirds and the balance of the property went to Jonathan who paid his sister Hannah Fay, his brother Josiah, and his brother Jedediah their shares.
