:Henry Lowell Mason, who was elected to annual membership 5 Oct. 1910, died in Boston 18 Oct. 1957. He was born in Boston 14 Aug. 1864, a son of Henry Mason, born in Boston 10 Oct. 1831, whose wife was Helen Augusta Palmer, born in Cambridge, Mass., 16 Sept. 1836, daughter of Asher C. Palmer and Anne Rowland Folsom.&lt;br /&gt;

:He married, 8 June 1907, Estelle Hart Kimball. The children were: (a) Helen Hart, born 15 March 1908, and (b) Henry L., born 17 Feb. 1910. [snip]&lt;br /&gt;

:His Mason line of descent follows: (1) Robert. (2) Thomas, settled in Medfield, Mass., about 1652, married Margaret Partridge. Killed by Indians. (3) Ebenezer married in 1691 Hannah Clark. Quartermaster in 1716 and member of the General Court in 1730. (4) Thomas, married in 1772 Mary Arnold, died in 1789; his wife died in 1798, aged ninety-five. (5) Barachias, born in Medfield (Harvard, 1742), married in 1767 Love (Whitney) Battle, widow of Jonathan Battle of Dedham, and daughter of Mark Whitney of Hopkinton. He died in 1795, and his widow in 1802. (6) Johnson, married in 1791 Catherine Hartshorn. Captain in 1800, Lieut. Col. in 1803, member of the General Court in 1842. He died in 1856. (7) Lowell, married Abigail Gregory of Westboro. He was eminent as a scholar and teacher of music. He died in Orange, N. J. in 1872.&lt;br /&gt;

:Wheelock Whitney, who was elected a life member of the Society 5 Oct. 1926, died in Wayzata, Minn., 23 March 1957. He was much interested in the Society and contributed to the Minnesota State Panel erected in the Society's House.&lt;br /&gt;

:He was born in St. Cloud, Minn., 28 Aug. 1894, a son of Albert Gideon Whitney, born in Robinsdale, Minn., 14 March 1860, died in Portland, Maine, 11 Jan. 1922, whose wife was Alice Maria Wheelock, born in Leicester, Livingston Co., N. Y., 30 Jan. 1868, a daughter of Austin W. Wheelock and Mary Lovicy Francis.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
:Mr. Whitney was prepared for college in the Phillips Andover Academy, and was graduated from the Sheffield Scientific School of Yale University in 1916.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
:He served in World War I, training at the school for Heavy Artillery at Fort Snelling, and at Fort Sill, Okla. He served six months in France as a Captain.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
:In 1922 he became President of the St. Cloud Public Service Co. He was a member of the Minneapolis Club, the Woodhill Club, and the Lafayette Club.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
:He married, 7 Jan. 1922, in Portland, Maine, Katharine Kimball. The children were: (a) Sally Lucille, born 17 Sept. 1924; (b) Wheelock, Jr., born 30 July 1926, and (c) John Kimball, born 1 Sept. 1927.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
:Albert Gideon Whitney was the son of Ephraim Whitney and Elizabeth Wakefield, and a grandson of Joseph Whitney and Rebecca Libby.&lt;br /&gt;
&lt;br /&gt;
:Among other New England families from which he descended may be mentioned Francis and Peck.&lt;br /&gt;
