+There are sources that conflict regarding the year that Buel was born.  His headstone in Standing Rock Cemetery, Kent, OH, indicates he was born 10 Oct 1818.  However, all census records would indicate that he was born after 1820, probably circa 1822.  For his record, I have used the day and month from his headstone and 1821 as the year which seems to fit the census records and other accounts.
