 On Francis Whitney's land records, he is listed as Francis Whitney Senior as early as 17 Feb 1825.  We can assume that since his grandson Francis Whitney was not born until 1857, he had a son named Francis Whitney Jr.
-New documentation has proven the age of both this and the often confused [[Family:Whitney, Francis (b1775-a1790)|Francis Whitney Jr]] in Orangeburg, SC.  These two men are not the same person.  The other Francis is much older than this Francis.  There are multiple possibilites in North Carolina for Francis' parentage, but parentage has not been found to be documented yet.
