John died about 1844. I have no positive proof that Martha was the daughter of John and Ann, but this is the only place she could be placed in the Whitney family and the dates are right. In the 1810 census of Southampton, John and Ann had one daughter 1-10. I see two males in Southampton who don't fit anywhere else - Alexander and Selaney. They may also belong to this family. {jcf}
