 I have also found your grandfather's family in the 1930 census in Goshen, Addison Co., VT.  He is Arthur W. Whitney, head of household, aged 28, a laborer, with wife Anna B., aged 27.  They had been married nine years, and were renting property, probably a house.  Enumerated with them are the following children:  Henry F., 8; Marjorie E., 6; Virginia M., 5; Arthur W. Jr., 4 and 0/12; and Barbara G., 1 and 5/12.  The oldest two had attended school within the year.  These children would be your mother, aunts, and uncles.
-It turns out we are extremely distant cousins in at least two ways.
+I also found your grandparents' marriage record.  He was Arthur Wm. Whitney, she was Anna Belle Shadrich, and they were married 17 Oct 1920 in Castleton, VT.

		+	The 1930 census of the U.S. lists 149 Arthur Whitney individuals, 2 Arther Whitney individuals, 1 Art Whitney individual, and 1 Artemas Whitney individual. Your grandfather might be among them, but in order to pick him out, we need to know where he lived, his age, names of brothers and sisters, or other information to distinguish him from the others. That would be a starting point for us and you.
