Jonas8 Whitney (Jonathan7, Nathan6, Jonathan5, Jonathan4, Jonathan3, Benjamin2, John1), son of Jonathan7 and Betsey M. (-----) Whitney, was born 15 Mar 1824, Albion, NY.

He married, 17 Jul 1842, Bergen, NY, Emeline J. Pollay. She was born 20 Oct 1822, Erie Co., NY.

He was born in Albion, Orleans Co., NY, and his wife in Erie Co., in the same state. He resided in Albion until 1869, and followed his trade, that of harness maker. He moved to Iowa and Kansas in 1890; resided Canandaigua, NY, and Lone Elm, KS.

Children of Jonas8 and Emeline (Pollay) Whitney:

i. Louisa Jeanette9 Whitney, b. 16 Sep 1843; m. 10 Jan 1866, F. Chatterdon; resided Lone Elm, KS. They have 3 sons.
ii. Charles Murray Whitney, b. 20 Sep 1845; m. Julia A. Nelson.
iii. Herbert Jonas Whitney, b. 5 Jul 1853; m. Mary E. Kelly.
iv. Frank Pollay Whitney, b. 3 Feb 1857; m. 26 Jul 1882, Stella A. Schisca; resided Lee Co., IL; 3 ch.
