Jonas8 Whitney (Jonathan7, Nathan6, Jonathan5, Jonathan4, Jonathan3, Benjamin2, John1), son of Jonathan7 and Betsey M. (-----) Whitney, was born 15 Mar 1824, Albion, NY, and died 1905, Anderson Co., KS. He was buried in Colony Cemetery, Colony, KS.[1]

He married, 17 Jul 1842, Bergen, NY, Julia Emeline Pollay. She was born 20 Oct 1822, Erie Co., NY, and died 1906, Anderson Co., KS. She was buried in Colony Cemetery, Colony, KS.[2]

He was born in Albion, Orleans Co., NY, and his wife in Erie Co., in the same state. He resided in Albion until 1869, and followed his trade, that of harness maker. He moved to Iowa and Kansas in 1890; resided Canandaigua, NY, and Lone Elm, KS.
