Roderick B.9 Whitney (Solomon8, David7, Silas6, David5, Benjamin4, Thomas3, Thomas2, John1), son of Solomon8 and Besheba (Clow) Whitney, was born 28 Sep 1825, Canada, and died after 1880.

He married Cleora -----, possibly daughter of Phillip and Ruhama (-----) Smith. She was born about 1826, VT, and died after 1880.

He resided Highgate Center, VT; left a son Phillip, whose widow resided Highgate Center.

i. Emery J.10 Whitney, b. ca. 1849, VT.
ii. Edna L. Whitney, b. ca. 1851, VT.
iii. Philip R. Whitney, b. ca. 1854, or Oct 1852, VT; d. after 1920; m. 1881, Highgate, VT, Elizabeth A. -----.
iv. Sarah Minerva Whitney, b. ca. 1856, Highgate, VT; d. 13 Jun 1878, Westford, MA, aged 22 years, of uraemia;[1] m. 31 Oct 1876, Westford, MA, George Waldo Cummings, as first wife.[2]
v. Dora A. Whitney, b. ca. 4 Jan 1860, Highgate, VT; d. 17 Nov 1888, Westford, MA. aged 28 years 10 months 13 days, of chronic nephritis;[3] m. 11 Oct 1880, Highgate, VT (recorded at Lowell, MA), George Waldo Cummings, as second wife.[4]
