Charles Pratt8 Whitney (John Brooks7, Jacob6, Abner5, Jonas4, Eleazer3, Thomas2, John1), son of John Brooks7 and Katherine A. (Pratt) Whitney, born 14 Jul 1866, Shelburne Falls, MA.[1]

He married, 1888, Creston, IL, Grace E. Lewis. She was born 15 Jan 1867.

Charles Pratt, son of John Brooks and Katherine Pratt Whitney, born at Shelburne Falls, MA, removed to Chicago (with parents), 1874, and educated in public schools of that city. At the age of 14 he started in the fire insurance business as office boy, and eight years afterward was made a member of the insurance firm of Granger, Smith, Miller & Company, of which firm he has now been a member seven years. Married in 1888 to Grace Elizabeth Lewis of Creston, IL. Fall of 1893 built at Edgewater, IL, where he now resides. He is vice-president Chicago Athletic association, secretary and treasurer of Massachusetts society in Chicago, member of the Sons of American Revolution, and other societies; resided Chicago, IL; address with Granger Smith, Miller & County, 172 La Salle St.

Children of Charles P.8 and Grace E. (Lewis) Whitney:

i. Lewis Husted9 Whitney, b. 8 Feb 1892.
ii. Charles Pratt Whitney, Jr., b. 12 Dec 1893.
