S.", who died, 23 July 1854, at Green Bay, Wis.; married (2d), 1 July 1855, "Jerusha S.", dau. of "Charles and Sophia", who died, 20 Oct 1856, at Green Bay; married (3d), 30 Nov. 1859, "Laura M.", dau. of "Henry W. and Olive"; and was living at Green Bay in Ap. 1875, having dwelt there for 24 years, without leaving his father's house.

I. Harmon Wells Whitney, b. at Meredith, N. Y., 22 Feb. 1820; a cutter and engraver of marble; married at Ogdensburgh, N. Y., 25 Oct. 1842, by Rev. J. M. Howard, Baptist, to Mary Ann Roberts, who was born in Malone, N. Y., 27 March 1817, and whose parents, John and Sarah (Cashion) Roberts, lived in, or near, Cornwall, C. W., at the time of her marriage. He settled in Ogdensburgh; and about 1850, moved to Pontiac, Mich., where they lived for two years. They then dwelt in Flint, Mich., for eight years; in Lansing, Mich., about ten years; and in 1870, moved to Albion, Mich., where they were living in 1874.

II. Clarissa Whitney, b. at Meredith, N. Y., 31 Jan. 1822; married at Flint, Mich., 22 May 1855, by Rev. John Swan, Episcopal, to George Washington Roberts, a tailor, who was born at Wolcott, N. Y., 14 Feb. 1819, son of John and Sarah (Cushing) Roberts. They settled in Flint; and moved, in 1859, to Detroit, Mich., where he enlisted, 14 Aug. 1861, in Co. F, 5th Reg., Mich. Vol. Infantry. He was discharged at Yorktown, Va., in consequence of sickness, 28 Ap. 1862. He enlisted, as first sergeant, in Co. F, 17th Reg.. Mich. Vol. Infantry, 27 Aug. 1862; died in hospital at Knoxville, Tenn., 25 March 1864; and was buried in the soldiers cemetery at Knoxville. He took part in the battles of South Mountain and Antietam, and in the siege of Knoxville. She moved to Lansing, Mich., in 1866; and was living there, without children, in Sept. 1874.
