Jotham Emerson⁸ Whitney (Philip⁷, Eleazer⁶, Nathan⁵, Thomas⁴, Eleazar³, Thomas², John¹), son of Philip⁷ and Sarah (Cook) Whitney, was born 20 Mar 1827, Halifax, VT, and died 10 Mar 1912.

He married, about 1848, Fanny Maria Waters, daughter of Timothy and Zebudah (Bond) Waters, or Fannie Maria Fairbanks, daughter of Samuel and Content (Purrington) Fairbanks. She was born 3 Oct 1832, MA, or Halifax, VT, and died 5 Apr 1912, Readsboro, VT.
