He married, 1 Apr 1870, Bayshore, Isliptown, Suffolk NY, Julia Lorretta (Pettit) Wright, daughter of Jacob and Sarah (-----) Pettit. She was born 16 Mar 1847, Brighton Hills, Monroe Co., NY, and died 21 Feb 1926, Miami, Dade Co., FL. She had married firstly Edward Wright.

On Nov 1862, he enlisted Grayson's Artillery, Confederate regiment, in St. Augustine, FL.
