Abijah Smith (1740-86) commanded a company of New Hampshire militia in the New York campaign, 1776. He was born in Leominster, Mass., died in New Ipswich, N. H.
Levi Whitney (1739-1809) served in the commissary department. He was born in Shrewsbury.
Jonathan Burton (1741-1811) served as sergeant in Capt. Benjamin Taylor's company, 1775, and rose to the rank of lieutenant, 1776, serving under Capt. William Barron in the Ticonderoga campaign. He was born in Middleton, Mass.; died in Wilton, N. H.
Philip Putnam (1740-1810) in 1776 was in command of a company for three months, New York troops; was engaged in the battle of White Plains. He was born and died in Wilton, N. H.

Elijah Calkins (1740-1813) enlisted at Sharon, Conn., in the 6th regiment, Connecticut Line. He removed to Dutchess County, N. Y., and died in Sharon, N. Y.

Norman Newell (1761-1850) enlisted, 1776, as a private under Captains Whitney and Walker, Col. Samuel B. Webb's Connecticut regiment. In 1818 he was a pensioner from Batavia, Genesee County, N. Y. He was born in Farmington, Conn.; died in New Portage, Ohio.
