4. Abigail3 Chadwick (Ebenezer2, John1) was born in Sudbury 7 May 1713. She is mentioned on the church records of Weston 13 Feb 1731/2, and a later note adds "now Spring".

She married in Weston, 17 May 1732, by the Rev. William Williams, Ensign Henry Spring, probably son of Thomas and Elizabeth (Traine) Spring.
Children recorded at Weston, surname Spring:
  1. Henry, b. 6 April 1733; mar. in Weston 28 April 1757, Hannah Whitney, dau. of William and Hannah (Harrington), b. in Weston 16 Feb. 1737/8. Two children recorded at Weston: 1. Nanney [sic], b. 27 Feb. 1758; d. 17 March 1758. 2. Hannah, b. 1 July 1759.

5. Mary3 Chadwick (Ebenezer2, John1) was born in Sudbury 26 June 1715; died in Weston 23 Feb. 1756.
She married first 19 June 1735, Jacob Peirce, blacksmith of Weston, son of Francis and Hannah (Johnson) Peirce. He was born in Weston 9 Aug. 1712; died in Weston 26 Sept. 1738. His widow and John Jackson were appointed to administer his estate 16 Oct 1738. The inventory, dated 15 Jan. 1738/9, mentions "A Right in Hosatonoc in the Grant Number 1" and a memo in the probate docket tells of a "House to be Built & 4 Ac. Plowed at Housatonock" (Middlesex County Probate #17478).
She married secondly, 30 March 1741/2 in Weston, by the Rev. William Williams, William Whitney of Weston, son of William and Martha (Peirce) Whitney. He was born in Watertown 11 Jan. 1706/7 and probably died in 1789, for that is the last year his name is found on the Weston tax lists. Mary Chadwick was admitted to the church at Weston 3 June 1733; a later note reads "now W. Whitney wife", and the widow of Jacob Peirce is called "now Whitney" in a document of 19 Nov. 1744.

  1. Thankful, b. in Weston 1 Nov. 1736; mar. in Tryingham 3 July 1760 Josiah Smith. Apparently she d. and he mar. (2) Mercy ---- who is mentioned in his will and who later mar. in Great Barrington 26 May 1785 Capt. Thomas Ingersoll. The will of Josiah Smith of Great Barrington is dated 8 Feb. 1782, proved 9 May 1783. His widow, Josiah Smith, [Jr.] and Truman Wheeler refused administration 5 May 1783 (Berkshire County Probate #1163). [snip]
  2. Jacob, b. 7 March 1738; together with his sister Thankful ward of William Whitney 19 Nov. 1744 (Middlesex County Probate #17479) On 15 Oct. 1753, in his 16th year, he was named ward of John Chadwick of Housatonic (ibid).

  1. Mary, b. 12 Dec. 1742; d. 30 March 1743.
  2. Mary, b. 6 March 1744.
  3. Sarah, b. 6 Sept. 1746; perhaps mar. in Sudbury 30 Oct. 1765 John Rayley (Raeley), son of Phillip and Susannah (Joyner), who was b. in Sudbury 7 Jan. 1731/2.
  4. Nathaniel, b. 1 May 1748; d. 10 Oct. 1751.
  5. Joel, b. 22 Dec 1749; d. 22 Feb. 1749/50.
  6. Susanna, b. 23 Dec. 1751; mar. in Weston (also recorded at Medford) 14 May 1778 Israel Mead of Medford, perhaps son of Jabez and Abigail (Eveleth), who was b. in Sudbury 8 Jan. 1747.
  7. Abigail, b. 30 Dec. 1753; mar. in Weston 5 March 1778 as his second wife, Samuel Curtis of Marlborough, perhaps son of Samuel and Hannah (Nichols), b. in Sudbury 17 Jan. 1753. Children, perhaps others, recorded at Marlborough, surname Curtis: 1. Samuel, b. 14 Feb. 1779. 2. Anna, b. 26 March 1780. 3. Fanny, b. 19 March 1781. 4. Hector McNeal, bapt. 30 Dec. 1787.
