- "9. Charles2 Chadwick, eldest son and third child of John1 Chadwick by wife Sarah, was born at Watertown on 19 Nov. 1674. He is mentioned in the will of his naemsake, Charles Chadwick, in 1681, as eldest son of his father, then under age, and he is also named in the will of his father in 1710. He must have removed early in manhood to Weston, where he married on 11 April 1699 Sarah Whitney, also of Weston. His deeds Middlesex County, 12:19; 14:109; 15:132, 372, 551, 579, 593] call him husbandman in 1696, 1706, and 1710, weaver in 1710, and yeoman in 1711. His wife is named only in 1707 and 1709 deeds. The final deed was executed on 9 July 1711 but there is no probate in Middlesex County. Children (all known):
- i. Charles, b. 21 May 1700, Weston.
- ii. Elizabeth b. 3 May 1702, Weston.
- iii. Abigail, m. 17 Apr. 1732, Henry Spring of Weston.
- iv. Submit (perhaps), listed by Bond, Watertown Genealogies, p. 735, but not found by us."
