unbounded confidence in his skill, strongly attached to him a large circle of students, patients and friends. So great was the confidence of the public in Dr. WHITNEY's skill, that his frequent absence and sickness did not seriously interfere with his business. Even up to the last moment patients continued to solicit his advice, and when he could no longer see them, desired to have their symptoms reported to him in order to receive the benefit of his counsel. Roxbury, Mass., Mar. 15, 1846; res. Natick, Mass. He was educated at the common schools, and in 1861 moved to Washington with his father's family. While there, was a clerk in the Treasury Department until 1867. After 1874 was in the Internal Revenue service in Mass., and at present is in the insurance business in Natick. Is general agent for the New England States for the German American Ins. Co., of New York.
