death, he moved to Oshkosh, Wis., where he died of apoplexy, 27 March 1863, at the house of his nephew, George Frederick Wright. He and his son, Sylvanus, were buried in the same grave, 29 March 1863. He served for one year in the war of 1812, and was in the battles of Queenstown and Lundy's Lane, but escaped capture, and crossed the river with a slight wound in the leg. He and his wife were, for many years, exemplary members of the Presbyterian Church. He was six feet and three inches in height.
