I. Mary Ann Truesdell, b. at Warwick, N. Y., 12 Aug. 1797; married, 14 Jan. 1817, at Horseheads, N. Y., John Breese, a farmer, son of John and Hannah (Gildersleeve) Breese, from Basking Ridge, N. J., and the first permanent settlers, in 1789, of Horseheads, where he was born 29 Ap. 1791. They settled at Horseheads, where she died, 3 March 1874, in communion with the Baptist Church, and was buried in the new cemetery. They lived in wedlock for more than fifty-seven years; and duly celebrated the fiftieth anniversary of their marriage, on which occasion "one brother, one sister, ten of her children, and nineteen of her grandchildren were present to congratulate the aged couple upon their long life of usefulness and uninterrupted happiness." He was still living at Horseheads in Oct 1875.
