2864 V. Lyman Whitney, b. in Southeast, N. Y., 9 March 1817; a farmer; married, 23 Aug. 1840, at Phelps, N. Y., Mary Walker. He went early to Mich., and settled at Howell. He died, 28 Oct 1871, without children, at Ypsilanti, Mich.; having sold his farm at Howell, and retired from business, some time before. She lived, it was thought, at Ypsilanti in 1875.
2865 VI. Emeline Whitney, b. in Southeast, N. Y., 16 Ap. 1819; married, 19 Dec. 1845, Lewis Ardalia Townsend, a dealer in boots and shoes, son of Ardalia Townsend, of Carmel, N. Y., where he was born 19 Feb. 1825. They dwelt at Carmel, and at Brewster's Station, N. Y. She died 24 March 1850, at Southeast, and was buried in the Drew Cemetery. He married (2d), 2 I Dec. 1851, Julia A. Reynolds, dau. of Stephen Reynolds, of Southeast. He died 22 May 1875, at Brewster's Station, and was buried there. 8138
2866 VII. Ira Whitney, b. in Southeast, N. Y., 13 Jan. 1822; a boot-maker; married there, 11 Jan. 1847, Sarah Ann Ferguson, dau. of Lewis and Nomina (Ganun) Ferguson, of North Salem, N. Y., formerly of Southeast, where she was born. He died 16 Ap. 1861, and was buried in Somers, N. Y. She married (2d), 25 Dec. 1870, at Purdy's Station, N. Y., Daniel Haviland, and was living at Danbury, Conn., in Feb. 1875. 8140
2867 VIII. Charles Whitney, b. in Southeast, N. Y., 18 Oct. 1824; died there, 17 March 1824, and was buried in the Drew Cemetery.

2868 IX. Augusta Maria Whitney, b. in Southeast, N. Y., 24 May 1830, married in Elm Street, Danbury, Conn., 12 Nov. 1856, by Rev. George W. Woodruff, M. E., to Zerah Hoyt, a manufacturer of hats and caps, son of Henry and Mary Slater (Dart) Hoyt, of Reading, Conn., formerly of Bethel, Conn., where he was born, 6 Feb. 1835.1 They settled in Danbury (where she had dwelt, with short exceptions, since 8 May 1841), and were living there in Jan. 1874. 8141

2869 I. George Grandison Whitney, b. in New Canaan, Conn., 20 May 1820; a shoemaker; married in 1850, at Bedford, N. Y., by Rev. Jacob Green, Presbyterian, to his cousin, Elizabeth Ann Blanchard, who was born in Stamford, Conn., dau. of John and Mary (Whitney) Blanchard. They settled in New Canaan, where she died, 19 June 1858, and was 8142
