married Charles Bromley, of Brooklyn, N. Y. They were living there, at 220 Washington Street, in June 1877.
2876 VIII. Charles Legrand Whitney, b. in New Canaan, Conn., 15 Oct. 1834; a farmer; married at Stamford, Conn., 12 June 1864, Martha Ann Bates, dau. of John and Esther Smith (Holley) Bates, of Darien, Conn., where she was born 10 June 1843. They settled at Darien, and were living there in Feb. 1875. 8162
2877 IX. Harriet Elizabeth Whitney, b. in New Canaan, Conn., 25 Ap. 1837; married Gerrit Sullivan, of Brooklyn, N. Y. They lived in Adams Street, Brooklyn, in Dec. 1 875, without children.

2878 I. Caroline Elizabeth Scofield, b. at Long-Ridge, in Stamford, Conn., 10 Oct. 1814; married, 12 May 1842, at New York City, by Hon. Frederick R. Lee, to Arnest Fink,1 a wholesale dealer in provisions, son of Arnest and Catharine (Fash) Fink, of Spring Street, comer of Mott, New York, where he was born 13 Aug. 1810. They dwelt at 22 Spring Street, New York, from their marriage till 1848; at 25 East 29th Street, till 1864; and at Avenue 5, Harlem, New York, till his death, 6 Ap. 1865. He was buried in Greenwood Cemetery. She afterward lived at 52 East 25th Street, till 1870; at 17 West 37th Street, till 1 May 1875; and then moved to 113 West 34th Street. where she was living in Nov. 1875, without children.
2879 II. James Edwin Scofield, b. at Stamford, Conn., 20 Oct. 1816; a farmer; lived in Stamford till 1850; and then moved to Milford, Conn., where he married, in 1854, Elizabeth Jackson. He died at Milford, 15 Nov. 1860, and was buried there, in the Old Cemetery. 8164
2880 III. Julia Ann Scofield, , b. at Stamford, Conn., 28 Aug. 1818; married, 31 May 1847, in New York City, by Rev. George Brown, M. E., to John Henry Decker, a merchant, son of John Henry and Anna Catrina (Buchsmeister) Decker, of Hannover, Germany, where he was born 29 Feb. 1812. He came to the United States in 1832; and was one of the pioneers in California, and one of the few who were successful. They
