the brave assailants held so tenaciously and defiantly the ground they had gained; nor one in which it was more hazardous to perform the chivalrous act, in commemoration of which these chaste and beautiful medals have been struck. They are appropriate rewards for your fearless valor and devotion, and are worthy of 'The Century' and the occasion which called them forth. They should be preserved and transmitted by each of you, as a high and priceless honor.

I. John Miller, b. at Modena, in Plattekill, N.Y.; and died when about three years old.

II. Zadok Miller, b. at Modena, in Plattekill, N.Y., 8 Nov. 1813; a painter; married in her father's house at New Paltz, N.Y., 13 Dec. 1837, by Rev. Valentine Buck, Meth. Epis., to Bethany Stone, who was born at New Paltz, now Lloyd, 16 Dec. 1816, dau. of James and Elizabeth (Rose) Stone. They settled at Lloyd; and from there moved to New York City, where she died 14 Feb. 1865 or 1866, and was buried in Greenwood Cemetery. He was living at Lloyd, near Highland post-office, in 1873.

III. Anna Maria Miller, b. at Modena, in Plattekill, N.Y., 3 Nov. 1816; died at Plattekill, 7 Feb. 1839, unmarried, and was buried near her parents, in the Seymour burying-ground, two miles east of Modena.
