p. 70, #769: Obediah and Mehitable6 (WHITNEY) NEWTON had four children born in Spencer, MA. It was not she, but Mehitable5 WHITNEY, daughter of Josiah4 and Lydia (BALLARD) WHITNEY [Josiah 3, (?)Benjamin2, John1], #519 on page 57, who married, about 1783, as his first wife, Isaac WILLIAMS, and had five children born in Sandisfield, Tolland, and Becket, MA.
p. 70, #769: Since Isaac WILLIAMS married a different Mehitable WHITNEY, and then two subsequent wives, it would seem that Mehitable6 (WHITNEY) NEWTON's second (not third) husband would be a certain HANKS, whose identity has not been uncovered.
p. 70, #770: Joshua6 WHITNEY was born 11 Nov 1758, Spencer, MA, according to Spencer vital records.
