He married, 27 Sep 1854, Augusta, NY, Mary Elizabeth Miller, daughter of Morris Samuel and Lucinda (Wood) Miller. She was born 2 May 1837, Augusta, NY, and died 5 Jan 1906, Deansboro, NY. She was buried in Deansboro Cemetery, Deansboro, NY.[2]
He was a farmer. They lived in Augusta for six years; and then moved to Kirkland, near Deansville post-office, where they dwelt in 1874.

Fred Jared Whitney, b. 9 May 1876, Kirkland, NY; d. 20 Nov 1948, Deansboro, NY; m. 16 Jun 1904, Rome, NY, Ida Bell Egger. He was buried in Deansboro Cemetery, Deansboro, NY.[4]
