Samson Farnsworth (Matthias, Elizabeth³ Whitney, Joshua², John¹), son of Matthias and Abigail (Shed) Farnsworth. was born 12 Mar 1745, Groton, MA, and died 1 Jul 1833, Groton, MA, "Capt.", aged 88 years.

He married, 25 Sep 1765, Pepperell, MA, Rachel Shattuck, daughter of Samuel and Anna (Williams) Shattuck. She was born 21 Aug 1738, Groton, MA, and died unknown.
