David Knapp (Mary⁴ Whitney, Joseph³, John², John¹), son of John and Mary⁴ (Whitney) Knapp, was born 12 Mar 1717, Newton, MA,^[1] and died 1773, Spencer, MA.^[2]

He married firstly, 1 Jun 1741, Newton, MA, Sarah Bartlett, daughter of Joseph, Jr., and Hannah (Hyde) Bartlett. She was born 1712, and died, 29 Oct 1767, Newton, MA.

He married secondly, 27 Sep 1759, Spencer, MA, Mehitable Rice, daughter of Eliakim and Mehitable (Livermore) Rice. She was born 10 Sep 1731, Worcester, MA, and died 1773, Spencer, MA. She was a "Mayflower" descendent in the following line:
