Aaron Chandler Whitney (Stillman F., Aaron, [poss.] Jonathan5, Samuel4, John3, Benjamin2, John1), son of Stillman F. and Ellsbyra Ann S. (Merrill) Whitney, was born 13 Nov 1853, Guilford, ME,[1] and died said 1923. He was buried in Rural Grove Cemetery, Dover-Foxcroft, ME.[2]

He married firstly, 20 Nov 1878, Penobscot Co., ME, Hattie C/G. Graves.[3] She was born about 1860, and died 1886. She was buried in Rural Grove Cemetery, Dover-Foxcroft, ME.[4]

He married secondly, about 1889, Avis S. Bowerman, daughter of Benjamin and Jane (Hawkes) Bowerman. She was born about Apr 1850, St. Albans, ME, and died 7 Dec 1903, Falmouth, MA, aged 53 years 8 months, of pulmonary tuberculosis.[5] She was buried in St. Albans Village Cemetery, St. Albans, ME.[6]

i. Herbert L. Whitney, b. ca. 1879, Springfield, ME; m. 24 Nov 1904, Hartland, ME [recorded in Haverhill, MA], Sarah J. Ames, b. ca. 1882, Dover, ME, dau. of Frank T. and Eliza W. (Oakes) Ames.[7]
ii. Carrie S. Whitney, b. ca. 1882, ME.
iii. Alice M. L. Whitney, b. ca. 1885, ME; m. ----- Butler.
