Barnabas7 Whitney (Paul6, Timothy5, Jonas4, Moses3, Richard2, John1), son of Paul6 and Lucinda (Marsh) Whitney, was born 27 Aug 1828, Bolton Centre, Brome Co., QC, and died 20 Mar 1865, Bolton Centre, Brome Co., QC.

He married, 1852, Chittenden, VT, Emily Bracey, daughter of Samuel and Sarah (Fuller) Bracey. She was born about 1835, Canada, or Newport, VT, and died after 1877. She married secondly, 3 Oct 1865, Bolton, QC, Joseph H. Hewes. Apparently he died or they were divorced, because she (with surname Whitney) married thirdly, 6 Feb 1877, Sterling, MA, William H. H. Mahan, b. ca. 1841, Northborough, MA, son of Samuel and Amelia (Boynton) Mahan.[1]

He resided Bolton Centre, QC.

Notes

Elwin F. Whitney's death record calls his father Elwin O. Whitney, born Calais, ME,[17] but I believe that that is inaccurate. No such person can be found, and all other elements of the record agree with the data for a son of Barnabas Whitney, as placed above. Furthermore, both are buried in Lot 169, Section 2, Evergreen Cemetery, Leominster, MA.

Census

The family were probably in Quebec, and those censuses have not yet been examined, with one exception.
